downton abbey question for my flist

So, does anyone happen to have the Downton Abbey DVDs in region 1 format (that's what plays on USA players) who can tell me if they have English subtitles or closed-captioning? Because my father wants me to get the DVDs ... and I want them ... but this Very Important Information is not listed on either the Amazon or Barnes & Noble websites.
